Welcome to the Virginia Tech IT Procurement & Licensing Solutions (ITPALS) Contract Management System (CMS) website. This is a public portal for software agreements and other IT contracts which have been vetted through ITPALS. The portal's search feature will allow users to query specific contracts or a list of contracts fitting various criteria of interest via the keyword search field.

Null Search

This search feature allows for a search of all contract records without specifying any search criteria. This will populate a results page with all contract records.
Search by Contractor Name

This search feature allows for a search by part or all of a contractor name. Users can enter words likely to appear in the contractor name. For example, entering the word “software” would retrieve all contractors with the word “software” in their company name. Users can also use the drop down list to find a specific contractor. To initiate the search click on the “search records” button. This will populate a results page with all contractors and their respected contracts related to your search criteria. You can then select the contract you want to view and all documents related to that contract will populate.
Search by Contract Title

This search feature allows for a search by part or all of a contract title. Users can enter words likely to appear in the contract title. For example, entering the word “project” would retrieve all contracts that contain the word “project” in the contract title. Users can also use the drop down list to find a specific contract title. To initiate the search click on the “search records” button. This will populate a results page with all contracts related to your search criteria. You can then select the contract you want to view and all documents related to that contract will populate.
Search by Contract Number

This search feature allows for a search by contract number. Users can enter the contract number or select it from the drop down list. To initiate the search click on the “search records” button. This will populate a results page with the contract you specified in your search criteria. You can then select the contract and all documents related to that contract will populate.
Search by Authorized User

This search feature allows for a search of users authorized to use certain software. Please select either Campus Wide use or Department Specific contracts and click “search records” button. This will populate a results page with all contracts for the authorized user selected.
Search by Keyword

This search feature allows for a search by a keyword and can be helpful in locating agreements already vetted within various software type categories. Searching by keyword allows users to enter a word or words likely to appear in the contract title, contractor name or description of the software/services. For example, entering the word “schedule” and clicking on the “search records” button will populate a results page with all contracts with that contain “schedule” in the keywords, or appearing in the contract title or contractor name. Please note, this is a work in progress, with ongoing adjustments and updates made as required to provide the best results.
Search by Approved For

This search feature allows for a search by approval level. Please select one or more of the approval groups Faculty/Staff, Student Use – includes FERPA protected data, or Student Use* – no FERPA data collected and click “search records” button. This will populate a results page with all contracts for the selected approval group(s).
*“Includes FERPA protected data” means the software involves student data that has been reviewed and approved for use by students.
